Storage and placement of
Sentry Fire-Safe StackableFile.
For maximum fire safety, store the StackableFile units on the lowest secure floor in your home or
business (e.g. basement or first floor). Given the weight of the StackableFile units, this will reduce
the risk of injury or damage to StackableFile contents in the event the flooring is weak or becomes
compromised by fire or other structural damage.
To avoid scratching delicate surfaces when relocating the file, remove the contents and pick
up the unit.
Instructions for stacking
NOTE: Do not stack more than four StackableFile units.
To safely stack two, three or four StackableFile units, follow these easy steps:
1.With one hand grasping the faceplate drawerpull and another hand grasping the grip on the back
of the unit, carefully lift the unit and place it squarely on top of the first unit. To do so, align the
edge of the two units (front to back first), and simply ease the top unit into position (Fig. A).
MAKE SURE THAT ALL EDGES BETWEEN THE STACKED UNITS ARE CLEAR OF DEBRIS. DEBRIS
MAY INTERFERE WITH PROPER STACKING.
CAUTION: We highly recommend that you have additional assistance to lift and stack
the units in place; the individual units are heavy and require precise
placement. (Fig B)
2.Locate the two holes on each side of the unit.
3.Using all four screws, attach the units together, being sure that the screws are tightly secured.
(Fig. C)
Repeat steps for stacking the third and fourth units, when desired.
Four small adhesive circles are included for use in covering the screw holes in the top unit.
NOTE: Do not lean on the open top drawer of stacked units.
